RealtorI'm a REALTOR in Calgary, and I focus on people buying their first home, a home with a legal suite, or their next investment property, mostly in northwest Calgary, though I work with investors citywide.
Here's the thing about real estate: most people think they only have one option. My job is helping you see the two or three you actually have, simplify the numbers, and choose with confidence, not pressure. I'm an advisor, not a salesperson. I look at every deal from your side of the table, not mine. Sometimes that means telling you not to buy, or not to sell, right now. That's fine by me. It's your decision, not mine to make for you.
I've been an active real estate investor since 2005, with 14 properties and more than 30 rental doors along the way, mostly buy-and-hold, mostly homes with legal secondary suites. I've helped both of my sons become investors too, which is one of the things I'm proudest of in this business.
Before real estate, I spent 30 years as a Naval Architect, working on projects across Canada, the U.S., and Norway. That background is where the calm, steady, problem-solving approach comes from. You're not the first person I've helped work through a complicated decision with a lot of moving parts.
I grew up in Badger's Quay, a small fishing community on the northeast coast of Newfoundland, where my dad was the local handyman and I was his sidekick from a young age. Those early lessons about hard work and doing things right still guide how I work today.
Calgary's been home since 1997. My wife teaches junior high, and we've got two sons, most of the last 25 years spent driving them to hockey rinks. When I'm not working with clients, you'll find us camping.
Clients tend to describe me as calm, steady, and a straight shooter. I try to keep emotion out of the decision-making, explain things in plain terms, and I won't push you into a move that doesn't feel right, whether you're a first-time buyer, a growing family, a downsizer, or an investor.
If you're weighing your options in Royal Oak, Tuscany, Sage Hill, or anywhere else in the northwest, reach out. A phone call costs you nothing.
