Meet Sam Pond.

.

.

Originally from Badger’s Quay, a small fishing community on the northeast coast of Newfoundland, Sam grew up learning the value of hard work, honesty, and helping others. His dad was the local handyman, and from a young age, Sam was right by his side learning how things work, how to fix them, and how to build with care. Those early lessons still guide how he works today.

Sam has lived in Calgary since 1997 and proudly calls it home. With a 30-year career in engineering and education as a Naval Architect, he spent years designing major projects across Canada, the U.S., and Norway. That background shaped his calm, steady approach and strong problem-solving mindset, skills his real estate clients benefit from every day.

Sam has been an active real estate investor since 2005 and truly loves the business of real estate. Over the years, he has owned 14 properties with more than 30 rental doors in total. He believes real estate is the single greatest wealth-building tool available and is passionate about helping people use it to build long-term, even generational wealth. He still actively invests today and specializes in homes with legal suites, whether as pure rental properties or smart “house hack” opportunities for owner-occupied buyers. Helping both of his sons become investors has been his proudest achievement in real estate.

Clients often describe Sam as calm, steady, and a straight shooter. He helps people separate emotion from decision-making, explains things in simple terms, and never pushes anyone into a move that doesn’t feel right. Whether you’re a first-time buyer, a growing family, a downsizer, or an investor, Sam’s goal is always the same: help you make smart, confident decisions with clarity and peace of mind.

Family has always been a top priority for Sam and his wife, who is a junior high teacher. Much of the last 25 years was spent driving to hockey rinks while raising two competitive hockey players. When he’s not working with clients, you’ll often find Sam camping with family and friends, staying connected to the people and community that matter most to him.

Today, Sam brings together his Newfoundland roots, engineering background, investing experience, and strong family values to serve Calgary buyers, sellers, and investors with patience, integrity, and steady guidance.

  • Sam was amazing to work with! He helped us get our home ready to sell and priced it perfectly! It sold right away. He made the whole process so easy and stress free. Sam also helped us find our new forever home, and we couldn’t be happier. He’s professional, friendly, and truly goes above and beyond for his clients. Highly recommend!

  • We met Sam at one of the many open houses we toured early in the year before making the final decision to move forward with buying a new house and selling our current one. After just a short conversation both my partner and I knew he was going to be good fit for us. Sam's extensive experience as a home owner and landlord of several properties was incredibly valuable as we navigated selling and purchasing our new home. He gave us insight on what was worth doing prior to listing in our current property given the current market conditions. Although the market softened while our home was listed Sam was proactive in keeping our property in buyer's minds and staying in touch with interested buyer's agents as we did a couple small price decreases. This ultimately led to a sale that we were very happy with. As for supporting us through the purchase of a new home, Sam was amazing. We had looked extensively at open houses in our desired areas for over 2 years and had a solid idea of what we wanted. When we found a couple places that fit our list Sam booked showings for us right away so that we could assess with his expertise. He came prepared with comparable homes every and provided clarity on if the homes we liked were priced appropriately. When we finally put an offer in Sam had good suggestions for conditions that left us feeling very comfortable with the purchase. The home inspection was very helpful and Sam went through the report with us and took some of the items back to the seller, they agreed to address some of the minor issues with the home and Sam negotiated a credit for a couple of the other items. We have been in the new place for just over a month and it was totally the right move for us and we are so thankful for the guidance Sam provided to the process.

  • Impolite and disrespectful person. Unbelievable how he can sell anything with such attitude.
